Recently, volunteers from American Red Cross of Montana, Black Eagle Fire Department, Great Falls Rotary Club, Malmstrom AFB, Boy Scouts and Masons of Great Falls-Euclid Lodge installed free smoke alarms and shared important fire safety information with homeowners in the Black Eagle community. This event was part of an ongoing nationwide Red Cross campaign to reduce deaths and injuries from home fires by as much as 25 percent in five years.

“The Home Fire Campaign is a great way to make families aware of the importance of having working smoke alarms and practicing escape plans,” says Diane Wright, Executive Director of the American Red Cross of Montana. “we visited 25 homes, provided fire safety information, installed 40 smoke alarms and assisted these households with developing home fire evacuation plans.”

This event was sponsored by Walmart and Smiths.
