Rotary Speakers Needed!

Is there a particular speaker you'd like to hear at our weekly meetings? Is there a topic you'd like to learn more about? We're facing a dry spell for luncheon speakers and could sure use your suggestions. Contact Kurt Baltrusch if you have an idea that might be interesting.

Urgent Message on the Peace Park Assembly

The Waterton-Glacier International Peace Park Assembly will be at the East Glacier Lodge from September 16 - 18, 2016. District 5390 does have a block of rooms reserved for Rotarians at East Glacier Lodge, but the lodge is in the process of reducing the number of rooms available under our block to accommodate other requests for lodging this summer

Therefore, it is critical that you make room reservations as soon as possible, preferably today. There are limited number of motels and campgrounds in the area, so you may have trouble finding lodging if you don't make your reservation as soon as possible.

You can make reservations by calling the East Glacier Lodge at 1-406- 892-2525. Ask for Group Booking Code E16. You can also find this information and the assembly registration at www.montanarotary.org.

This Week at Rotary

It's the changing of the guard at Rotary this week, as we say good-bye to Tim Peterson as president and welcome Colin Lee as our new leader.

Lacey Gallagher will give us an update on Harvest Howl and Ken Munksi will tell us about this year's Camp Runnamucka experience, featuring happy kids, First Lady Lisa Bullock and General Matt Quinn.

Join us at noon at the country club!

Rotarians Rock!

Chances are, if there's good music and an outdoor venue on a summer's eve, you'll find fellow Rotarians on the scene. Last Thursday was a good example. Off to Missoula to hear Boston play were Jeff Albrecht (pictured lower left) and Tim Peterson (center). Looks they're "feelin' satisfied"!

Meanwhile, here in River City, Rotarians were much in evidence at Music on the Mo. It was a tranquil evening on Broadwater Bay and enjoying the music were Rick Evans, Susan Wolff, Tracy Houck, John Juras ... and who knows how many more Rotarians!

John Denver once said, "“People everywhere are the same in heart and spirit. No matter what language we speak, what color we are, the form of our politics, or the expression of our love and our faith, music proves we are the same.” Rotarians get that.

Milestones

This bulletin failed to note the awarding of a blue badge recently to John Huber, Senior Vice President at D.A.Davidson. Congratulations, John! (And apologies from the cub reporter!)

Lots of early July birthdays for Rotarians: Wendy Sire celebrated hers on July 1 and Gordon Rubard will celebrate on Tuesday, Aaron Weissman on Wednesday, and Jeff Albrecht and Sydney Blair on Wednesday. May the joys of life abound for all of you this year!

Weekly Wisdom from Pat Summit

Success is a project that is always under construction.

I won 1,098 games and 8 national championships. But what I see are not the numbers. I see their faces.

If you don't admit a mistake and take responsibility for it, you're bound to make the mistake again.

If you don't want responsibility, don't sit in the big chair.

Once a guy asked if I had any advice when it came to coaching women. I gave him a death-ray stare and said, “Don't worry about coaching women. Just go home and coach basketball."

It's what you learn after you know it all that counts the most.

No one feels strong when she examines her own weakness, but in facing weakness you learn how much there is in you.

A champion is someone who is willing to be uncomfortable.

God doesn't take things away to be cruel. He takes things away to make room for other things.
