On April 30, 2026, Cooper Hibbard, a 5th generation rancher of Sieben Livestock, spoke to Rotarians at our weekly meeting.

Through innovative grazing, genetics, and investment in local ranchers, he has managed to increase ranch production.

He created the Old Salt Co-op whose goal is to create resiliency with the beef and sheep industry in Montana. 

Old Salt Co-op is owned by Montanan ranchers  and they have created an insulated economy from pasture to processing to your door. 

Their business model is diversified, and they have two restaurants in Helena: The Union and the Old Salt Outpost. In addition, they also host a festival in Helmville Montana June 19-21 where they offer music, talks, food, demos & activities. Click below to learn more!
