Become a Member of the Paul Harris Society
Paul Percy Harris (April 19, 1868 – January 27, 1947) was a Chicago, Illinois-based attorney. He founded the club that became the humanitarian organization Rotary International in 1905.
April will be a special month for Rotarians in Montana as the Clubs and District Celebrate the coming of Spring and the honoring of all their members who have chosen to become members of the Paul Harris Society. Clubs will also recognize their members who became Paul Harris Fellows during this Rotary Year as well as those who have gained a new recognition level of Paul Harris Fellowship.
If your club hasn't already held a Paul Harris Fellows Recognition Ceremony, April is a great time to do it. Your District 5390 Foundation Committee has developed a really nice formal ceremony template. If you would like a copy, please contact Robert Minto at rminto@bigsky.net and he will send a copy directly to you.
Also remember that it is a very special honor to become a member of the Paul Harris Society, and it costs nothing to join, just a commitment to be a significant supporter of the Rotary Foundation on an annual basis. In addition, those that sign up this year, have the added benefit of having their contribution matched at 100% by both District 5390 and Rotary Zone 27. Think about it that makes a $1,000.00 contribution worth $3,000.00 to whichever Rotary Foundation Fund you choose to support. If you or some other member of your club is interested in becoming a member of the Paul Harris Society, please contact Roger Barnes at rotaryrogerbdc@gmail.com .
