This Week at Rotary

This week's featured presentation should be fascinating. Emily Wilson of the C. M. Russell Museum of Western Art will tell us about the women in Charlie's life and art. Join us at noon at the country club!

Last Week at Rotary

Last week fellow Rotarian Chelle Fried told us about the good work of her employer, Easter Seals-Goodwill. It's a dual affiliate headquartered in Great Falls and providing services in four northwestern states: Montana, Idaho, Wyoming, and Utah. Chelle is the community relations officer for the organization.

Easter Seals is well-known for the services it provides to help the elderly, people with disabilities, individuals recovering from surgery, illness or injury, and people in transition from nursing homes to live independently in their own homes. Goodwill provides affordable housewares and clothing through its recycling and upcycling (pinterest) programs.

Easter Seals-Goodwill makes a concerted effort to integrate its programs with the community. It provides a day at the ballpark, giving clients the opportunity to play ball with the Voyagers. Its VSA art exhibit is currently on display at Paris Gibson Square.

Chelle particularly appreciated the question-and-answer session following her presentation, allowing her to dispel some of the rumors that circulate about Easter Seals-Goodwill and to delve a bit into the history of the organization. Interestingly, Rotary International played a part in that history! We get around!

Ending the Month Right!

The end-of-the-month social for the month of May was last Wednesday at Black Eagle Brewery.

Rotarians gathered to enjoy one another's company and to patronize one of our local businesses - in this case, Black Eagle Brewery.

The establishment is a pleasant blend of memorabilia from Black Eagle's storied past to live-action sports viewing. (Puzzle challenge for readers: What sport is being broadcast on the TV in the back?)

As you can see from this photo, a good time was had by all ... well, nearly all. The ever-inquisitive barrister Bill Bronson seems to be preparing to mount a cross-examination!

Milestones

Birthday greetings go out this week to Cooper Thomas on Monday and to Tim Peterson on Saturday. Best wishes to you both for a delightful new lap around the sun!
