Three birthdays this week: Today, Steve Schnider puts another candle on the cake. Specifically, it's his 60th candle, and you're all invited to help him celebrate at the Schnider Funeral Home, 1510 13th Street South this afternoon from 2:00 - 4:00.
On Wednesday, Jim Kizer and, on Thursday, Sophia Sparklin also celebrate birthdays. Best wishes to all three Rotarians!
This Week in Rotary
This week our featured presenters are Leo Barthelmess and Perry Jacobs, who will introduce us to the Ranchers Stewardship Alliance. Join us at noon at the country club!
Last Week at Rotary
Last week our featured presentation fell through, so President Peterson used the occasion to field reports and suggestions from members on Harvest Howl. The time flew by!
Speaking of time flying by, you can view the time-lapse photography of Harvest Howl 2015 by pasting this link into your browser: https://youtu.be/ZmjEqxL3F3E Thank you, Jeff Albrecht, for creating it!
Rotarians Have a Song in Their Hearts
One of the joys of being in Rotary is the variety of talents and interests of our members.
Recently, piano teacher Su Suits took some of her pupils to a special interaction with Philip Aaberg, noted pianist from the Chester area.
If you look closely at this photo, you'll find fellow Rotarians Jim Humphrey (far right) and Keith Tokerud (center back). Small wonder that these two men of music bring so much grace and acceptance to our club!
A Look at Our Membership
The past year has been a good one, in terms of cleaning up our membership accounts and practices. Our October 2014 - October 2015 dashboard shows us moving from 106 to 96 members and back up to 105 members by October 2015. We have held fairly steady at a 3:1 male/female ratio and roughly the same ratio for over-65/under-65 years of age. As the chart below depicts, 42% of our membership have more than 10 years of service and 28% have over 20 years of service.
