Mark McGinley From Montana Youth Challenge. Introduced by Kurt to present what this program consists of and means for our kids of today.
This is the Youth Challenge program in action. It is a three phase program that consists of a bootcamp phase, education phase and a required mentor phase to complete successfully.4,000 students since 1999 have graduated this program that would not have otherwise completed High School. There is an 85% success rate of the graduates and they are tracked for a four year time span after completing the program. This program is funded 75% by the Montana Air National Guard and 25% State funded and is free to all children that attend.
Mark telling us what MYC is and isn't. Did you know it is a military based school program? They take children from ages 16 to 18 that are at risk of dropping out of school. They do not take children that have felonies, are on probation at the time, have extreme mental health needs, in rehab or needing a therapeutic placement. The facility is in Dillon located at the College. If students show without the basic needs the program has a foundation that is able to assist with supplying things for them.

Bob's Services will be on June 7th, 2024 at 1PM at the First Presbyterian Church located at 1315 Central Ave. All Rotarians are welcome to attend!
Meet John at the Bandshell to join in the ride. Make sure and get great pictures to share with the group!

WHAT IS THE PAUL HARRIS SOCIETY?

The Paul Harris Society (PHS) recognizes Rotarians who PLEDGE TO CONTRIBUTE $1,000 or more each
year to The Rotary Foundation - Annual Fund, PolioPlus, or approved global grant. This tax-deductible annual
gift goes toward helping improve communities, both here in Montana and around the world. In District 5390 we
have added 25 new PHS members since the start of Rotary Year 2023-24 – last July.
WHAT IS SO SPECIAL ABOUT JOINING THE PAUL HARRIS SOCIETY RIGHT NOW?
A Paul Harris Society member in our district is extending a generous offer to any new PHS member or PHS
member who has become inactive. Join the Paul Harris Society or re-activate your annual PHS giving and
when you have completed your annual pledge and contributed $1,000 to The Rotary Foundation your
contribution will be matched dollar for dollar! Your contribution will have doubled its impact! This offer extends
through the 2024-25 Rotary Year so, right now, you have time to complete your pledge.
AM I REQUIRED TO GIVE $1,000 BEFORE I CAN JOIN THE PAUL HARRIS SOCIETY?
No. You can become a PHS member without immediately giving. You join the PHS with a pledge to give. You
can also fulfill your Paul Harris Society membership pledge gradually during the Rotary year. Check out
ROTARY DIRECT https://my.rotary.org/en/rotary-direct for Rotary’s credit card-based recurring giving app. I
personally use this app to make an $85 monthly donation to The Rotary Foundation and so fulfill my $1,000
annual pledge.
WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A PAUL HARRIS FELLOW AND PAUL HARRIS SOCIETY
MEMBER?
A Paul Harris Fellow (PHF) has made cumulative contributions to The Rotary Foundation over time and is
recognized each time their contribution passes a $1,000 mark. A member of the Paul Harris Society pledges
to contribute at least $1,000 each year to the Annual Fund, PolioPlus, or approved Foundation grants.
