Get Ready to HOWL!

This is it: the busiest and most rewarding week of our Rotary year! We're hosting Harvest Howl on Friday, so it's all hands on deck. A few last-minute reminders:

  • If you have silent auction items to deliver, including wine or hard liquor, either bring them to Rotary this week or contact Susan Wolff.
  • If you have items for the dessert auction, bring them to the venue on Friday, but also let Cari Yturri know what you're bringing.
  • Set-up begins on Thursday evening. Drop-ins welcome!
  • Set-up continues all day Friday. Every little bit helps!

Service Above Self - Again!

Bright and early last Monday, a stalwart crew of Rotarians gathered at Camp Rotary to clean out the old cabins preparatory to destruction.

Shown here, from left, are David Cameron, Gains McFadden, Bill Knick and Scott Reasoner. Also on hand were Art Taft and Shawn, the camp caretaker.

It's the end of an era for the cabins. Next summer they'll all be shiny and new. Thanks, Rotarians, for laying this groundwork!

This Week at Rotary

This week fellow Rotarian John Juras will give a presentation on "Trails to a Better Life." There will be lots of last-minute details for Harvest Howl to attend to as well, so join us at noon at the country club!

Opportunity for Ink

Our club has been invited to submit an article about the smoke alarm project to the Red Cross national newsletter. If you took part in the project, contact Mary Moe at mary.sheehy.moe@gmail.com by Wednesday.

Milestones

September is another big month for Rotarian anniversaries. Here are some long-serving Rotarians who joined the club in September:
  • Douglas Wilson - 40 years
  • Kurt Baltrusch - 31 years
  • Jim Humphrey - 30 years
  • Douglas Hagen - 24 years
  • Bill Harp - 24 years
That's a whole lot of years of service above self! Thanks, guys!
