Harvest Howl Marks New Record!

Thanksgiving came a couple of days early last week.

At Tuesday's meeting, Tom Nelson (left) and Mike Wier (right), who head up our Harvest Howl fundraiser each fall, gave us the news of our "winnings" from the event.

Amazingly, we've hit a new high - we not only set a new record, but left the old one in the dust. Between the tickets sold, the food served, the 50-50 tickets split, and very successful silent and dessert auctions, Mike and Tom were able to write a check to the Great Falls Rotary Foundation for $97,000! That money goes directly to Camp Rotary, the signature project of Great Falls Rotary, and a commitment of such long duration and high ambition that it makes our club unique in the state.

This is the pay-off for all our hard work. Our thanks to the many leaders who made the work organized, do-able, and very, very productive.

This Week at Rotary

This week we'll hear from Heather Palermo and Beth Schmidt about an issue vital to every community workforce - customized training and apprenticeships. Join us at noon at the country club!

Last Week at Rotary

As we geared up for the Thanksgiving holiday in our personal lives, Rotarians gathered last week to hear a message from Middle East from Reverend Tim Lanham.

We also had the final reporting-out from the Harvest Howl. [See story elsewhere in this bulletin.]

With the proposed slate of officers due for the membership to vote on at our annual meeting in December, we were reminded to get potential the names of potential nominees to Dean Boyle, who as past president chairs the nominations committee.

Let's Get Social!

It's time for the end-of-the-month social! Heidi Hockett has generously offered to host the event this Wednesday, Nov. 28, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.  She lives at 79 Sun View Lane. Join us for some post-Thanksgiving celebrating!

Milestones

This Wednesday is special for another reason besides the end-of-the-month social. Fellow Rotarian and state senator Brian Hoven is celebrating another birthday. Best wishes, Brian, for a great year!
