Montana Association of Museums
Kristy Scott spoke to us about the Montana Association of Museums at our February 17, 2026 meeting.
Kristi D. Scott is the Interim Executive Director of Museums Association of Montana. She is a historian, curator, and 4th generation Montanan. In her previous position she served as the Executive Director of The Cascade County Historical Society/The History Museum & Research Center in Great Falls, MT. In the decade prior Scott was an intern for Ursuline Western Province Archives, curatorial assistant at the C.M. Russell Museum and the Curator of Art for Paris Gibson Square Museum of Art. Scott has a background in non-profit work and her professional interests include Northern Plains culture and art, historic preservation, conservation of museum collections and associated public programming.
The Museums Association of Montana (MAM,) is a non-profit, professional organization whose goal is to strengthen all of Montana's Museums and cultural centers.
They accomplish this by supporting their efforts to collect, preserve, and interpret our shared history and culture for all Montanans, and our visitors.
MAM furthers the missions of Montana’s museums and cultural centers through collaboration, promotion of standard best practices, grant-sponsored projects, and advocacy on the local, state, and national levels.
Corps of Discovery Challenge- A Lewis and Clark Expedition-Themed Adventure Race
On Tuesday February 24th, 2026
Shane Neuman came to speak about the Lewis and Clark Interpretive Center proposed Corps of Discovery Challenge. He is looking for interested people to be part of a committee to create this event who's proposed date is July 11, 2026. Teams of two complete in a historically inspired paddle-and-portage race that recreates the grit, ingenuity, and endurance of the 1805 expedition through the Great Falls region. Participants must: paddle upstream, complete historically themed challenges, portage around the falls, sprint to safety from a grizzly, paddle back downstream, and portage again and return to the Interpretive Center.
Coffee Fundraiser to Help Send Students to The Guatemala Water Projective:
We will be taking orders through March 17th.
Coffee is $25 per pound. Whole beans or ground are both available. Decaf or regular is available. Coffee can be picked up at Rotary or at Morning Light Coffee after April 14th.
If Rotary members want to take a whole ticket packet to sell 10 pounds of coffee that would be going above and beyond to help the students!
Members of the Paul Harris Committee will be at Rotary meetings and will have vouchers available; however, feel free to reach out to Cari in-between meetings!
The sales vouchers must be returned on either Cari or Sophia by March 24th so that the coffee can be roasted and ready by April 14th.
When the coffee is ordered the following information is needed on the sales voucher:
When filling out the voucher the following information is important-fill out both sides of the voucher so that we and your customer have the same information.
Give your customer the left hand side (small portion) of the voucher. It says that coffee will be ready by March 31st but since we're a week later than we had planned, please alert them that it will probably not be ready until April 14th.
Take cash or check for payment.
Confirm if they want to pick up the coffee at Morning Light or at Rotary
